Fire Doors in Leicester

Fire Doors for premises across Leicester, a short drive from our base in Exhall.

What we do in Leicester

If a fire risk assessment for your Leicester premises has flagged doors that fail, we replace them with certified doorsets or put right the ones worth saving.

Each door is fitted exactly as its maker tested it, with the right gaps, seals and approved hardware, and you get a record for every one. We work in shops, flats above shops, offices and industrial units in Belgrave, Birstall, Evington and Golden Mile.

Leicester is one of our home areas, a short drive from the yard in Exhall, so surveys, fitting days and follow-up visits are easy to arrange.

Shopping streets and planning in Leicester

The city centre has the Highcross shopping centre, and the older streets near the Cathedral and the Market include conservation areas, where the council expects shopfronts to suit the building.

Oadby and Wigston have their own borough council, separate from Leicester City Council, and Birstall falls under Charnwood. If your shop is near the city boundary, we check which council handles planning before drawings go in.

What you get from us

The same standard on every fire doors job, whichever town it is in.

Correct to the maker's test

Gaps, seals and hardware are fitted exactly as the doorset was tested, which is the only way the rating holds.

Traceable certification

Every door carries a label your assessor can check against the certificate.

Paperwork for each door

You receive a record with location, rating and photos to keep with your fire risk assessment.

Remedial work too

We fix failing doors where the door itself is sound, and replace those that cannot be saved.

We measure openings, check frames and walls, and decide whether to repair or replace each door.

3

Door schedule and price

You receive a schedule listing each door, its rating and the work needed, with a fixed price.

4

Install

Doors are hung, sealed and fitted with approved hardware, then closers are adjusted.

5

Hand over the records

You get photos, labels and a written record for every door.

Fire door prices

The rating, size and hardware chosen set the price for each doorset. These are typical per-door figures.

FD30 doorset, one leaf£450 – £900
FD60 doorset, one leaf£600 – £1,200
FD30S with smoke seals£550 – £1,000
FD90 specialist doorset£1,000 – £2,000

Prices are before VAT and per door. We confirm the exact figure in writing after the survey.

Questions people ask about fire doors

It means the door also has smoke seals. FD30 resists fire for 30 minutes; FD30S does the same and also limits cold smoke passing around the edges.

Only with parts approved for that door. Ordinary hardware can create a weak spot or remove intumescent material, which breaks the certification.

Doors in busy areas are often checked every few months, and all doors at least once a year. Your fire risk assessment should set the frequency.

Most must. Doors to cupboards that are kept locked are a common exception. Your fire risk assessment will say which doors need closers.
