Emergency Callout

Help when a shop is left open: smashed glass, a shutter stuck up or down, a forced door or a vehicle strike. We make it safe, then plan the proper repair.

The worst calls come at the worst times: a phone ringing at 2am because the alarm has gone off, or staff arriving to find the glass in pieces and the stock on show. Our emergency line is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, for exactly these moments.

What counts as an emergency

Anything that leaves your premises open, unsafe or unable to trade. The usual ones are:

- glass smashed in a break-in or by vandals - a roller shutter stuck open at closing time, or stuck shut in the morning - a door forced, with the lock or frame broken - a car or van driven into the front - storm damage to glass, signs or fascia - a door or closer that has failed so the shop cannot be locked

First, make it safe

Our first job is to stop further loss. That means boarding broken openings with timber, fitting temporary glazing where you need to keep trading, securing or manually closing a jammed shutter, or changing a lock so old keys no longer work. Broken glass is cleared from the pavement and the shop.

Then, the permanent fix

Most permanent repairs need parts made to measure, such as new glass or a shutter motor. Once the site is safe, we measure up and give you a price for the permanent repair, so you are not left with boards for longer than necessary.

Insurance

Take photos before anything is touched if you safely can. We also photograph the damage and our work and give you a written report, which insurers normally ask for. Emergency boarding is usually covered under a commercial policy, but check your own terms.

Call-out charges

Emergency and out-of-hours work costs more than a booked visit, and we tell you the call-out charge on the phone before we set off. No surprises when the invoice arrives.

Where we cover

Our emergency work is focused on the area around Coventry and Birmingham, where we can reach you quickly. Further away, call us anyway: we will tell you honestly whether we can get there in good time.
